Monotypes in Encaustic

Create one-of-a-kind prints layering with pigmented beeswax and powdered pigments. Exploit the natural translucency that occurs with the saturation of the beeswax into the paper. Explore the drawn line, the painterly mark and the unpredictability of the printmaking process. Develop techniques working with heat and the relationship to surface and texture. Make a series of related prints in this two-day workshop. This process does not require a press.
